Abstract

Purpose: We report a rare case of bulbar conjunctival schwannoma.
Methods: A 42-year-old woman visited our clinic for a bulbar conjunctival mass of her left eye. It was a 2.2 mm¡¿2.5 mm well-circumscribed, smooth and yellowish mass at the 11-o¡¯clock position of the left eye. We performed excisional biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Histopathologic examination revealed the mass to be a schwannoma with S-100 protein(+).
Results: A bulbar conjunctival schwannoma should be considered in a differential diagnosis of a well-circumscribed, smooth-surfaced and non-pigmented mass of the conjunctiva.
